Bruins looking to keep the streak alive!
On Tuesday afternoon the Bruins took on the Toronto Maple Leafs and pulled away with a 5-4 victory that the club needed more than ever this season. That win helped boost their efforts and hopefully placed them on a road to success.
The first period ended with the score tie 1-1. Caron who was newly acquired to the Bruins scored the only goal of the period and has proven to be a great addition to the team and New England sports. Surprisingly, the Bruins also posted no penalty minutes during the 1st.
The second period however was the complete opposite. The teams combined for 6 total goals and 10 penalties. The Bruins had 4 of these goals by Seguin, Kelly, Caron, and Seguin again. This helped propel the Bruins to a promising lead of 5-3 at the break.
However Toronto didn't let up and in the 3rd period cut the lead to 1 just half way threw. Thomas was in net and refused to let the game get tied, he posted 25 saves and took home the victory as the team boarded their plane and headed to play Buffalo.
The game against Buffalo took place on Thursday 3-8-12 and ended with another victory for the Bruins 3-1. The first period was relatively quite and ended with Buffalo leading 1-0. In the second period, Campbell matched that goal and tied the score 1-1.
The 3rd period was all about the Bruins as both Krejci and Boychuk posted a goal and the lead 3-1. Thomas did not let anything in after the first and posted 19 saves on 20 shots.
Today being Saturday afternoon, the Bruins take on the Capitals with the hopes of going on a 3 game win streak.
