Introduction to Free Fly

For this week i decided to steer away from the average sports that i blog about in New England and want to introduce everyone to one of the un-known sports i participate in every weekend. The following video is from Skyventure NH and shows two of our staffs best "free flyer's". I worked hand in hand with the production of this film and hope you all enjoy it as much as i do. Bruins looking to keep the streak alive!

On Tuesday afternoon the Bruins took on the Toronto Maple Leafs and pulled away with a 5-4 victory that the club needed more than ever this season. That win helped boost their efforts and hopefully placed them on a road to success.

The first period ended with the score tie 1-1. Caron who was newly acquired to the Bruins scored the only goal of the period and has proven to be a great addition to the team and New England sports. Surprisingly, the Bruins also posted no penalty minutes during the 1st.

The second period however was the complete opposite. The teams combined for 6 total goals and 10 penalties. The Bruins had 4 of these goals by Seguin, Kelly, Caron, and Seguin again. This helped propel the Bruins to a promising lead of 5-3 at the break.

However Toronto didn't let up and in the 3rd period cut the lead to 1 just half way threw. Thomas was in net and refused to let the game get tied, he posted 25 saves and took home the victory as the team boarded their plane and headed to play Buffalo.

The game against Buffalo took place on Thursday 3-8-12 and ended with another victory for the Bruins 3-1. The first period was relatively quite and ended with Buffalo leading 1-0. In the second period, Campbell matched that goal and tied the score 1-1.

The 3rd period was all about the Bruins as both Krejci and Boychuk posted a goal and the lead 3-1. Thomas did not let anything in after the first and posted 19 saves on 20 shots.

Today being Saturday afternoon, the Bruins take on the Capitals with the hopes of going on a 3 game win streak.

Rondo vs. Lin

With the game going into OVERTIME on Sunday afternoon, the Celtics triumph in a 115-111 victory over the NY Knicks. The Celtics showed their true potential tonight as Rondo faced off against Jeremy Lin.

Rondo posted yet another triple double and registered 17 rebounds, 20 assists, and 18 points. He did all this while containing Lin to just 4 rebounds, 5 assists, and 14 points. Lin also posted 6 Turnovers.

Pierce posted a game high of 34 points and hit clutch shots down in crunch time. Bass and Garnett each chipped in 18 points to help out the Celtics and Ray Allen added 12. All 5 starters went into double digits.

Anthony scored 25 for the Knicks and Amare posted a double double with 16 points and 13 rebounds.

This game had 5 ties and 7 lead changes that occurred down to the final seconds. It also helped give Boston some self-esteem as they move into the later part of the season trying to clinch a playoff spot.

Bruins fall yet again in NY

Sunday afternoon posed another challenge for the Bruins who couldn’t hold on to the NY Rangers and fell 4-3 in regulation.

The first period started off slow however the Rangers Fedotenko and Hagelin each scored within 1:10 of one another to take an early 2-0 lead. Later in the period, Pouliot cut that lead in half by scoring off a slap shot. The game went to intermission 2-1.

Not much occurred during the second period with the exception of the breakaway goal by Caron who tied the game 2-2 going into the 3rd.

The 3rd period was back and worth. The rangers took the lead 3-2 off a goal by Gaborik. However it was matched 7 minutes later by Krejci who tied the game at 3-3. The bruins couldn’t hold on and Stepan scored the game winning goal to boost the Rangers ahead 4-3.

The Bruins out shot NY 33-17 and just had a difficult time hitting the back of the net. Thomas only registered 13 saves and had a poor save % of .765. That kind of goal keeping needs to stop as the season moves forward.

Bruins fall short to Islanders

On Saturday afternoon, the Bruins fell short to the Islanders with a final score of 3-2.

In the first period, Milan Lucic scored his 22nd goal of the season but was matched by an Islander goal from, Josh Bailey. The period ended with the game tied 1-1.

The 2nd period was all about the Islanders and the only goal scored was by Matt Moulson to give the Islanders the lead 2-1 with 20minutes to play.

It looked good in the 3rd as Tyler Seguin also scored his 22nd goal of the season and tie the game up 2-2. However the lead didn't hold and John Tavares Tipped in a missed shot to score the game winning goal.

Boston lead in shots with 34 compared to the Islanders 25. Both Thomas and Rask played in net for Boston and each posted a little north of 29 minutes.

The Islanders pulled away the Win while having less shots on net and more penalty minutes, these things need to be avoided if the Bruins want to have a strong run into the post season and re-claim themselves as Stanley Cup Champions.

Bruins defeat Devils in OT

Bruins escaped tonight's game with a W over the New Jersey Devils. They started off strong in the first period taking a commanding lead as Krejci scored 1 minute into the game. Seguin also scored in the first period to go into the locker room up 2-0.

However the lead would not stick. In the second period it appeared that ll their momentum was lost and they let up 3 goals and went back to the board down 3-2 with 20minutes left to play.

Coming into the 3rd, Krejci prevailed again scoring 5 minutes into the period. This was the last goal of regulation and sent the game into Overtime where the B's prevailed by Krejci scoring his 3rd goal of the game giving him a hat trick and the Bruins a much needed Win.

Thomas had 28 saves tonight and the team now sits in 6th place overall in the league.

Home town HERO to the Patriots

With the scheduled NFL draft approaching, the New England Patriots have the 27th overall pick and the 31st! Local friend and fellow student at Nashua High School played for the University of Connecticut for his college days. Kendall Reyes has now opted to enter the NFL draft and is appearing more and more on his home teams board. Kendall a 2007 graduate of NHSN is predicted to be drafted 31st overall by the Patriots according to Mel Kipers predictions. The young Defensive tackle and lineman would add explosiveness to our Defense and create a local buzz in the southern NH region. Will this happen? i guess we will have to just wait and see.

Rondo gets a Triple Double

Yesterday was the second night of yet another back-to-back, Rajon Rondo and Kevin Garnett led the C's to a 102-96 win over the Bucks Wednesday night at TD Garden. Rondo finished with a triple-double of 15 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists. KG led the C's with 25 points and added 10 rebounds.
Brandon Bass had 16 points and seven rebounds in his second straight start and Chris Wilcox came off of the bench to grab a game-high 13 rebounds.

Aside from all the moves Rondo displayed during the game, he has been the center of attention for the Celtics as the trade deadline approaches. Arguably one of the best Point Guards in the NBA, the Celtics do NOT want to build a franchisearound him and claim that his attitude with Doc Rivers in un tolerable and need to remove him from their locker room. This is stirring up alot of buzz in the NBA as teams beging making offers for the All star player. Currently the Celtics are interested ina possible deal with Golden State that would acquire the injures Curry.
